Privacy policy

Akrib is a program that runs on your computer. Your meeting audio, transcripts, screenshots, topics and summaries stay on your computer and are never sent to this website. This site exists for the program's page, for updates, for your account and plan, and for people who want to support the project.
Who is responsible
Leonardo Max, who runs Akrib and this site. Contact: maxmeeting@leonardomax.com.
The account is required
To use the program you sign in to an account. After signing in, recording, transcription and analysis work offline; the program only talks to this site to renew your plan, count your exports, check for updates and, if you choose, to pay. The program checks for updates by fetching a public file with the newest version.
What we store
- Account data: name, email, password (stored only as an Argon2id hash), language, the date you accepted the terms and, if you enable it, your two-factor secret.
- Your computers: the name you gave each one, the system (Windows, macOS or Linux), the program version, the last-use date and a hash of the computer's identifier. The hash is a one-way SHA-256 of the identifier the operating system already keeps (the Windows MachineGuid, the macOS hardware UUID or the Linux machine-id); it cannot be reversed into the identifier. It exists only to give one trial per computer and to enforce the number of computers per plan.
- Plan and billing: your plan status (trial, paid, canceled), the trial dates, the date your paid period ends, how you pay (card or Pix), the number of exports you made in the month and your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We receive no card number: card data goes straight to Stripe.
- Usage counts, per computer: a simple record when you open the program, start or finish a meeting (with its length in minutes and whether it was native or in the browser), export (with the format), install a model or use live doubts. We never send meeting text, titles, participant names, file names, folders, open programs or any content. In the program, under Settings → Account, you can see exactly what is queued to be sent.
- Payments: amount, date and status of your plan payments and of your voluntary support. The payment details themselves (bank, card, Pix key) stay with Stripe, AbacatePay and your bank.
- Trial protection: when you start a trial we keep the computer hash and the IP address of the request, to stop one person from collecting trials. The IP address is erased after 30 days; the hash, which identifies no one by itself, is kept for 12 months even if you delete the account.
- Security: the server limits login attempts per email and IP, and the host's technical log keeps IP addresses for a short period.
What we use it for
- Keeping your account, your plan and your payments, and letting you sign in from the program (performing the service you asked for).
- Limiting the trial and the plan limits (exports, computers) and preventing abuse, fraud and account sharing beyond the plan (legitimate interest).
- Knowing, in aggregate, how much the program is used, to decide what to improve (legitimate interest, with the notice on this page and on the sign-in screen).
- Sending the emails the service needs: verifying your address, resetting a password and, if you pay by Pix, reminders that your period is ending.
- Recording your support and showing the supporter badge. Your name appears on the supporters page only if you tick that option.
We do not sell data or share it for advertising. There are no ads or third-party trackers on this site.
How long we keep it
- Detailed usage events: 90 days. After that only the daily total per computer remains, while the account exists.
- Account, computers and plan: until you delete the account.
- Payment records: deleted with the account, except what the law requires us to keep for tax and accounting purposes.
- Trial protection: as described above.
Who the data passes through
- Hostinger, where the site and database are hosted.
- Stripe, which processes card payments and holds your card data. Stripe may process data outside Brazil, under its own privacy policy.
- AbacatePay, which processes Pix payments (plan and support).
- Have I Been Pwned, when you choose a password: only the first characters of a hash are queried (k-anonymity) to reject leaked passwords. The password itself never leaves this server.
Your rights
Under My account you can download all data in JSON, revoke any computer and delete the account (removes the account, computers, events and payment records we are not required to keep; irreversible; a card subscription is canceled at the same time). You can also request anything provided by Brazil's LGPD (confirmation, access, correction, deletion, portability, information on sharing and withdrawal of consent) by emailing the address above.
Recording other people
When you record a meeting, tell the participants and follow the applicable rules and laws. You decide whether to record and how to use the recording; Akrib keeps everything on your computer only.
Changes
If this policy changes in a relevant way, we will say so on the site and, for account holders, by email.
